One of SOTON’s key objectives for 2021 was to diversify its sales geography and expand its customer portfolio. At the same time, it should be noted that a significant limiting factor in competition is the cost of transportation of polycarbonate sheets.

However, the SOTON sales team managed to sell polycarbonate sheets to such countries further afield as the United States and Uruguay. These orders were executed this year and demonstrate the results of the company’s hard work to develop new markets.

On 22 June 2021, a 6 mm monolithic polycarbonate sheet container was shipped to the United States. This product was used to glaze a building in Florida, USA. As a result of the execution of the order, the client was fully satisfied with the quality of the products and the service rendering of SOTON. This shipment was the first for the company conducted via container transportation means, which pushed  the team to find new customers with such a long logistical arm.

Six months later, on 29 December 2021, a second container was shipped, this time to Uruguay, to one of the largest distributors on the local market. The customer has been supplied with a wide range of products for the quality assessment of SOTON cellular and monolithic sheets.
